I was drawn to this style of interior because of its uniqueness. Its dominant feature by far is the ceiling. Due to the repetition of the curves on the ceiling it creates rhythm which unifies the room as one whole masterpiece. There is massive emphasis on the patterned feature on the ceiling mainly because it is so contrasting with the other furnishings such as the chairs, tables etc. as the other furnishings a very straight edged.

2.    Lolita, Ljubljana, Slovenia.

This design caught my eye mainly because of the amazing ceiling mural this was such a bold move it really pays off. This café is really feminine which is nicely balanced with such muted colour palette.
3.    W Hotel, Atlanta
       Natural with contemporary design

This place looks amazing I love the idea of mixing a water theme with the natural stone! It almost looks like its underwater! What really adds to the effect are the hundreds of metal leaves that float above the stone floor, refracting the light making the area feel really relaxed. I love the large panels of glass giving the water effect.

Detailing

Detailing in interior design is a creative form of problem solving. While remaining creative a designer must comply with construction reality. There are three basic things that detailing does. Firstly, its a way of fitting pieces together visually and physically. Secondly, detailing solves functional problems allowing the interior space to fulfil  its specific needs. Thirdly  basic elements and concepts of design can be reinforced by little details that make up the space. I was drawn to these pictures as the all show clearly its detail and how it was constructed.

Free hand architectural drawing

Free hand architectural drawings are used in the early stages of the design process. They are used again for problem solving and getting a feel for a space, being able to transfer the thoughts that are in the designers mind and being able to see it in the space. It’s an experimental stage and it goes through a lot of different options that are possible. It will also give a rough idea of the problems that could occur and allow for changes to be made.

Hand Rendered Drawings

Hand rendered drawings are a great way to show the client an idea of how the design will look once completed. Although the drawings are not photo realistic and may not give the real design justice it does help the designer and the client a real feel for the space and allows for some changes to be made before the work goes ahead.
